The oil industry is likely to get a huge boost soon, as the government looks poised to eliminate the 40-year-old ban on U.S. oil exports within the next year. In a 2014 report,S&P wrote that, “a partial or full removal of the crude oil export ban will have a big impact on the revenues, profitability, and credit quality of oil exploration and production companies.”
According to S&P, the oil producers that would benefit the most from an end to the ban are those that derive a large amount of oil from the Eagle Ford in South Texas. Some of the more prominent companies in this category include:
