From Barron’s:
Darren Jaroch is an equity income manager, but yield isn’t his only focus. His fund, the Putnam Equity Income fund (ticker: PEYAX ), emphasizes both income and capital appreciation. He’s approaching his third anniversary with the $6.2 billion fund, and though his tenure is short, so far so good: It has beaten 98% of large-value peers and has racked up an average annual return of 19.24% since he took over the fund in August 2012, compared with an annualized 18.06% for its benchmark, the Russell 1000 Value Index.
