From Marketwatch:
Don’t buy any small-cap stocks until next year.
And because small-cap stocks tend to lag behind large-caps in November and December, you may even want to shift out of the small-cap stocks you already own and reinvest the proceeds in large-caps.
I know, I know — this advice runs counter to the well-documented historical tendency for small-caps to outperform large-caps. According to the famous data series maintained by Ibbotson Associates (now a division of Morningstar), small-caps have outperformed large-caps by an average of 2.2 percentage points a year since 1926.
